Pattaya Guide – What to See

Pattaya is more an activity city than a sightseeing destination, since it’s a fairly modern place built around tourism and enjoyment. However, with this has arrived all sorts of themed parks and attractions. What it lacks in exotic temples and sights it makes up for with family amusement parks, nearby islands and beaches, and people-watching at the entertainment spots.

There are a number of remarkable sights or vistas to satisfy your shutter, such a the Sanctuary of Truth and the view point on the bluff at the southern end of Pattaya bay. The beaches aren’t particularly remarkable, but if you’ve just got off the plane from the dreary West you’ll find them quite satisfying. Nearby islands, like Koh Larn, have white sandy beaches and clear water.

Walking Street is a night time centre of activity and, together with the lanes off Pattaya Beach road, you’ll have plenty to look at in the form of scantily-clad ladies yelling ‘hello, you’re welcome’ at all ‘n sundry passing by. There’s also a beachfront promenade linking the two, which is good for an evening stroll.

Within a daytrip of Pattaya are other seaside towns and several attractions in the form of zoos, tropical gardens, elephant camps and mini replica displays. These attractions are both intriguing and provide an alternative to sitting on the beach all day. They also provide extra options for those with kids.
