Insects with human faces discovered in Pattaya

A small group of shield bugs with what looked like smiling faces on their armour has been found in a local garden by a 10-year old boy last Thursday.

The tiny shield bugs, or stink bugs as they are generally called, do not usually go to towns but inhabit tropical forests and feed on sap from plants.

The stink bugs were first seen by Satawat Huanaworn. He was playing in his aunt’s garden in Kittawee Runreung Village, north of central Pattaya, when he saw the group of five insects on some flowers.

Tourist arrested for secret bar girl porn

A RUSSIAN tourist has been arrested by police for allegedly filming several local prostitutes performing sex acts without their consent.

Pattaya Tourist Police successfully apprehended Dragov Kalin Olegov, 32, at the Diamond Beach Hotel after a bar girl complained that he attempted to film her in bed with a hidden camera.

The bar girl said she met Mr Olegov at a Walking Street bar before agreeing to have sex with him in his nearby hotel room. Continue reading →

Seafood festival causes a splash

THIS year’s Seafood Festival was opened by the Mayor of Pattaya on Saturday and promises to be a hit once again.

The week long festival is based at the Central Festival Shopping Center, Pattaya Beach Road, but has drawn support from many of the restaurants of the wider region.

Tourist told to leave Pattaya

NEW Zealand tourists in Thailand have been advised to flee the country because of the ongoing political crisis while US and Canadian citizens have told to avoid all travel to the Kingdom.

The upgraded advice will be a dagger blow to the already wailing Pattaya tourism industry which has seen a sharp downturn in bookings since the start of the troubles.
