Cinderella comes to Pattaya
21 Nov 2011
A leading Pattaya amateur dramatics society is staging the classic Christmas pantomime Cinderella at several venues over the coming weeks. The first performance is scheduled to take place this weekend at The Venue, a cabaret establishment in Jomtien.
The Pattaya Players will be bringing Baroness Hardup, the Fairy Godmother, Cinderella, the ugly sisters, the charming prince and Buttons to life for Pattaya audiences. The pantomime has been adapted for Pattaya by the troupe’s own skilled playwright and will be directed by leading light Wendy Khan.
This weekend’s first performance will take place on Friday and is scheduled to begin at 20:00. After Cinderella has finished, The Venue will stage its standard cabaret performances.
On Saturday, the Royal Garden Plaza Mall on Second Road is the venue for two matinee performances with show times at 13:00 and 16:00.
Subsequent performances are at The Venue on 1 December at 20:00, the Indian By Nature restaurant in Jomtien on 3 December at 20:30, the Eastern Grand Palace Hotel’s White Horse pub on 4 December at 14:00, Pattayaland’s Le Cafe Royale on 9 December at 21:15 and the Bondi Beach Bar in Jomtien on 10 December at 19:30.
The Pattaya Players are offering free admission for Cinderella pantos, but the various venues have their own programmes with charges for meals and beverages. The show at Indian By Nature comes as part of a lavish feast.
