Tourists on alert after snatch attempt

TOURISTS are warned to be on their guard after yet ANOTHER thief riding a motorcycle snatched jewellery in Pattaya.

The latest incident took place on on Tuesday morning when the motorbike taxi rider grabbed a gold chain from around the next of a local man at 11:30am in Banglamung.

The suspect was apprehended attempting to flee the scene on foot after falling from his Honda Wave during the robbery.

Victim Saroj Suwanlama was still in possession of half his necklace when police arrived as it broke in two during the attempt.

The 40-year-old told police that the assailant rode quickly past him but then lost control and fled into nearby Pornprapanimitr Village.

After a thorough search of the area the suspect was arrested attempting to break into a house.

Last week a Finnish national had a necklace worth 1,000euros snatched from her person as she got off a bus outside her hotel.
