A woman climbed up onto the roof of a car and stripped off at a set of traffic lights in the heart of Pattaya last Friday. Ms Sukhontha Khemthong was a passenger in a car driven by her younger sister when police stopped the vehicle following reports it had been involved in a hit-and-run accident.

The crew of a giant US aircraft carrier are visiting Pattaya for a spot of rest and recuperation. The USS Abraham Lincoln entered Laem Chabang Port north of Pattaya on Saturday, and many of the 5,500 crew aboard wasted no time in setting off to enjoy Thailand’s favourite seaside resort.

An extravagant Pattaya New Year party that began on Christmas Day concluded successfully just after midnight yesterday. Tens of thousands of revellers crowded the area around the resort’s Bali Hai Pier for the grand finale of what had been billed as the globe’s longest New Year celebration.
Fake mobile phone vendors arrested

Police conducted a raid at a shopping centre in Pattaya on Wednesday and arrested vendors alleged to have been selling counterfeit mobile telephones. In the raid at Tukcom Pattaya, police officers seized 610 knock-off phones and accessories said to have a black-market value of 1.6 million Baht.
