Geography of Pattaya - maps

Pattaya's busiest area is along the beach road that fronts Pattaya Bay. Off here are dozens of lanes, mostly full of bars, restaurants, hotels and plenty of people; girls in particular. This is the most convenient place to be, near Walking Street and the beach. However, glancing at the map of Pattaya you'll see there's plenty more to the city, with some exclusive, decent hotels in Naklua and on the elevated areas at the southern end of the bay.

On maps of Pattaya you'll find a north-south orientation, with Jomtien Beach south of the view point ridge at the end of Pattaya Bay. This is a popular alternative and boasts a long beach, and plenty of accommodation and tourist facilities. Getting between the two requires a bit of map navigation.

At the northern end of the bay is Naklua; a small headland with high-rise condos and several intimate beaches. Here you'll find the remarkable Sanctuary of Truth; perhaps the most important of Pattaya's few fine art attractions.

The further inland you go from the bay, the less tourist services you'll find and the more you'll feel among the Thai residents of Pattaya. Offshore are several small islands that area ideal for day trips; most notably, Koh Larn. In the nearby area of Pattaya are other popular coastal towns, some family attractions and many golf courses, which are not shown on our Pattaya map.

A map of Pattaya is useful in navigating your way beyond the beachfront of Pattaya Bay. Maps of Pattaya are easy to pick up, distributed free by local advertising companies, or found within tourist magazines. You'll find these in your hotel lobby or tourist businesses.
